Belsky told me, "Project Aero is in some ways the cloud-enabled bridge for an asset like an image or an animation to be created and made into 3D and placed in the real world. He also talked eloquently about how Photoshop has developed and how constraints aren't always setbacks. He went on,"Creativity is a process, right? It doesn't just happen on command at the desk and I hope that that's one of the other areas I can look back on, five years from now and say, wow, we made creativity truly wherever you want it to happen. And so, the question I always have is, how do we make creativity mobile? How do we make it literally everywhere you are? I think part of that is making Photoshop a product that also works on iPad and other places and we're working on that."
But creativity doesn't happen at a desk necessarily - at least, not only - and a lot of creative people would say that they're most inspired when they are least prepared for it. He said, "In some ways you've always had to sit at the desktop to use Photoshop or Illustrator or any of these products. The new augmented reality software from Adobe was announced this past June, but until now we hadn't heard much about it by way of how users could set it up with their iPad Pro and bring the tech together with Adobe Photoshop. The presentation then shifted to the previously-announced Project Aero, a feature that allows artists to take to Photoshop and create augmented reality experiences that can bring their artwork to life. It made editing a file with nearly 200 layers a snap, with no sign of a slog whatsoever on the tablet. An Adobe representative zipped through some quick adjustments and intuitive edits using the Apple Pencil on the new iPad Pro.

Adobe took the stage today during Apple's iPad Pro presentation to show off the first live demonstration of the full version of Photoshop on iPad, and it was pretty impressive.Īpple and Adobe continue to refer to the app as "real" Photoshop when discussing the upcoming app, which they did during this presentation.
